Shell FCU members falling victim to Digital Banking compromises. Fraudsters are calling and texting members while spoofing our official (713) 844-1100 phone number. Do not respond to these texts or calls. Delete the text or hang up immediately. NEVER share your Digital Banking credentials and avoid disclosing personal information with unsolicited callers or texters claiming to be Shell FCU. We will never do this. If in doubt, call Shell FCU at (713) 844-1100. If YOU call us first the number cannot be spoofed, and you know you will be talking to a Shell FCU employee.

Account Opening Information

Below is the list of documents required to open your Shell FCU Business account.

  • Assumed Name Certificate (DBA)
  • Official EIN Document (Only required if the owner is not using their social security number)
  • Assumed Name Certificate (DBA)

  • Partnership Agreement
  • Filed Certificate of Formation (also known as the Articles of Organization from the Texas Secretary of State)
  • Operating Agreement

  • Assumed Name Certificate (if applicable)
  • Filed Certificate of Formation Limited Partnership (Only for LP)
  • Registration of Limited Liability Partnership (Only for LLP)
  • Partnership Agreement

  • Certified Articles of Incorporation (also known as Certificate of Formation from Texas Secretary of State)
  • Corporate Resolution or Meeting Minutes reflecting authorized signers must be signed by the Secretary

  • Meeting Minutes reflecting Authorized Signers; must be signed by the Secretary

Personal Identification

Authorized Signers are required to provide two forms of identification if not a current member of Shell Federal Credit Union.

Primary Identification:

• Valid State Issued Driver's License • Valid State Identification Card • Valid Military ID Card • Valid US Passport • U.S Resident Alien Card • Texas Handgun License

Secondary Identification

• Mexican Matricula Card • Social Security Card • Voter Registraion • Valid Student ID • Utility Bill (Current) • Major Credit or Debit Card with name imprinted • Insurance card such as Auto, Health, or Medicare/Medicaid • Property tax bill • TWIC Card


Federal regulation requires the disclosure of beneficial ownership information when establishing accounts at financial institutions.

The entity is required to provide the name, address, date of birth, social security number, and valid government issued identification for each of the beneficial owners.

A Beneficial Owner meets at least one of the following criteria:
(1) Who directly or indirectly exercises "control" over the reporting company, or
(2) Who directly or indirectly owns or controls 25 percent or more of the "ownership interests" of the Business


Starting January 2024, most small businesses will be required to register beneficial owners with FinCEN.
